Try this simple feature of WPS if you are testing your portlet application in IE8 browser and suddenly you realize that some of the features w.r.t your application UI are either not working on IE8 browser
or may be working but not as per the expectation. The next step for you
to spend lot of time with your UX team to fix those issues. The UI
issues that most of us encounter with IE browser are related to

- Some java scripts is not working properly.

- In WebSphere Portal navigate to Administrative portlets and click on Supported Clients.
- You can see the "Manage Clients" Portlet. Click on Add New Client link
- Fill up the necessary details about IE8 as shown below.
- Save it and you are done.
